Carter Clifford
Carter began a career with the USDA Soil Conservation Service (SCS) as a student trainee in the Rio Grande Valley. He served in the United States Air Force Reserve and upon release from active military duty, resumed what became a 34-year career with the SCS as a range conservationist in Uvalde, Texas. He has also served the SCS as area range conservationist at Victoria, State Conservationist for Texas and Florida. He was promoted in 1984 to regional range specialist for SCS in Fort Worth, Texas serving 13 states and Puerto Rico. Upon retirement from the NRCS, he moved to Victoria and became a ranch consultant from 1994 to present. He began working for the Victoria Soil and Water Conservation District (VSWCD) one day a week in 1998. He works primarily with the VSWCD on ranch related activities and projects. Mr. Carter recently fully retired in 2023, we wish him well on his retirement!
